DOMFIL will be hosting our Spring BBQ on June 10th starting at 5:30pm in the park behind entrance 14 at US. This event will be co-hosted with LiUPhD. Hopefully with some good weather we will eat, drink, and play some games like Kubb.

Food and drink will be covered by DOMFIL for our members. More information to come.

DOMFIL’s biannual section meeting will be held on Thursday, May 26^th which will be held in Rönnen at 17:15. This is an excellent occasion to influence our work and to find out more about it. All members have voting rights, so reserve the date and register for the complimentary dinner afterwards for those that attend as a thank you!

You are invited to join the representative meeting on May 23^rd at Rönnen at 17:15 to give us an update on the work as a representative and meet the other representatives. Each board is required to prepare a short summary of their current work/discussion (5-10 minutes). If all members of a board cannot attend, please sent a short summary to the DOMFIL board prior the meeting, so we can give the summary. We appreciate that you represent DOMFIL and the PhD students, and as a thank you we would like to take you all out for dinner after the meeting! Please register here.

DOMFIL wants you to join us at Prison Island to solve challenging tasks in the prison cells together. It’s a lot like the TV-show “Fort Boyard” where you use team-work to solve tricky challenges in cells and collect points. All while the clock is ticking…. Everything is possible!

The fun will start at 14:00 and will be for approximately 2 hours on April 30^th. Possibility of BBQ afterwards if enough interest.

The location is at Västra Svedengatan 2D, next to Leos Lekland in Tornby

Nov 12th, 17:15 in Rönnen, we will have our autumn section meeting.

As usual, there are some things that needs to be done and you are always allowed to send in motions and questions to the board 10 days prior to the meeting.

And, as always, we will provide fika during the meeting and together go out for dinner afterwards (members will be paid for by DOMFIL). Please fill out this form so we know what to get etc.

Some information concerning who’s allowed to do what:

-Members have full rights (voting, may make suggestions)
-Non members are allowed to participate and express opinions (and of course also gets fika).

December 10th DOMFIL cordially invites you to join the lovely event of a Nobel-themed dinner at restaurant von Dufva in Linköping (Gränden Duvan 3A,582 22 Linköping). The price for this event is 100 SEK for members and 495 SEK for non members, see payment info below.

During the evening, you will be served a 3 course dinner and there will be some entertainment. After the dinner, we will move to the pub Överste Mörner at Stora Torget where people are welcome to stay for as long as they like.

It is customary to wear suit/cocktail dress but there is no official dresscode and you are welcome to dress as you see fit.

Welcome to a new screening of “The PHD movie”!

Do you like the comic “Piled higher and deeper” by Jorge Cham? Then you will probably like this movie. It is based on this popular comic and it shows the good and bad sides of being a PhD student in a fun way. The actors are real PhD students from CalTech, Pasadena. LiUPhD, SULF (The Swedish Association of University Teachers) and DOMFIL (the PhD student org. at MedFak) invites all PhD students at Linköping University to watch this movie. This year we show the first movie, and in 2016 we will organise screenings of the sequel The PHD movie 2!

Before and after the screening, you will have the possibility to meet representatives from LiUPhD, SULF and (at US) DOMFIL. Come and discuss the matters that are important to you, and tell us what PhD issues you think we should work with. Better supervision, more secure employments or what do you think?
